   In my own healing journey, I have found it critical to practice both of these aspects of life. It might seem challenging to find much (if anything) to celebrate, but very important to at least explore, and hopefully acknowledge where there are (or have been) places of content.
In processing both our sad, sometimes devastated feelings fully, we give them voice.
Likewise, when we express our joy or calm feelings, there tends to be a shift from either flat line or chronic sadness, to hope and rejuvenation.  
You will be surprised at how powerful this practice can be.
