Feb. 8, 2019 - The newsletter was blocked from going out, as planned, on Feb. 7. However, it is expected to go out properly on Feb. 8. Newsletter sending is being spread out over a 15 hour period, to avoid tripping "sending to fast" alarms that now exist on some mail hosting sites.
Jan. 30, 2019 - The newsletter appears to be having difficulties getting delivered to many Gmail addresses, due to authentication issues. We have taken corrective steps which we hope will eliminate these problems when the next newsletter is mailed out, on Feb. 7, 2019.
Jan. 29, 2019 - If you get the January 29, 2019, newsletter, but don’t get another in a few weeks, you may need to re-subscribe. You can do this most easily by using the resubscribe link at the bottom of your final newsletter. Otherwise, you can resubscribe by filling out the form at https://nwcompass.org/database/.
You may have noticed that our newsletter has often not gone out as planned, in the last 6 months or so. Our website got classified as a source of spam and outbound mail was being blocked.
To prevent this from happening again, we’ve cleaned up our mailing list, and made it easier for people who don’t want to receive these emails to unsubscribe. It turns out that about 14 percent of the email addresses on our list were invalid addresses. These have been removed.
Before our next newsletter goes out, we anticipate unsubscribing another 12 percent of the email addresses because we are unsure if they are valid or not. That’s why some of you might receive this newsletter, but not future ones.
