Her vision is a world where everyones’ needs are valued and where people have skills to effectively meet needs for themselves and others and resolve conflicts peacefully.
Sura has been a certified trainer with the global Center for Nonviolent Communication since 1999, and has served as project director and contact person for integrating Nonviolent Communication in U.S. Schools since 2000. She gives trainings, school consultations and keynote talks, and also works locally with colleagues in the Northwest Compassionate Communication organization.
Sura has co-authored, with Victoria Kindle Hodson, three books: The Compassionate Classroom: Relationship Based Teaching and Learning (PuddleDancer Press 2004); Respectful Parents, Respectful Kids: 7 Keys to Turn Family Conflict into Co-operation (PuddleDancer Press 2006); The No-Fault Classroom: Tools to Resolve Conflict & Foster Relationship Intelligence. A 21-week course for elementary classrooms (PuddleDancer Press 2008)
Their latest creation, The No-Fault ZoneTM Game, is a visual, kinesthetic, hands-on tool to support people of all ages to communicate with compassion and resolve conflicts peacefully. The No-Fault ZoneTM Game is being used in families, schools, therapists offices, businesses and everywhere people communicate. The No-Fault ZoneTM Game also complements The No-Fault Classroom curriculum. You can see the Game and order it at the Kindle-Hart Communication website: www.k-hcommunication.com.
